Mission Statement:  Happy at Home improves older people’s lives with compassion and kindness

Welcome to Happy at Home

Happy at Home supports the elderly and lonely in South Tyneside.

Our volunteers make regular visits (usually weekly) to lonely, isolated people; having a chat, listening to music, sharing a past time or just reminiscing.

We also run our Happy Hubs throughout South Tyneside where people who are lonely can make new friends.

We also run at least two additional events per year (at Christmas and in the summer) to which volunteers and the people that they visit are invited.

Would you like to befriend a lonely older person in your neighbourhood?

We are looking for people who have time to call and have chat with a lonely person in South Tyneside.

We are always looking for volunteers.

I love the care kindness and friendship extended to me by Happy at Home

It is reassuring knowing someone is there if needed and my family can’t see me

I thank the day I joined the Hub in Jarrow, I feel so fortunate to be part of it
