Would you like to volunteer for Happy at Home

Are you empathetic, a good listener, patient with time on your hands?

Would you like to join a group of happy, committed volunteers who enjoy improving the lives of older people in their community?

We are looking for people for the following activities:

  • Telephone support
    – making a call to an elderly person, once a week for a chat
  • One to One Befriending
    – making a visit in the home of an older person once a week, to chat, enjoy a pastime or just reminisce?
  • Hub Volunteers
    – helping out once a month at a Happy Hub with refreshments, Meet and Greet’, activities and engaging in conversation with our Happy Hubbers.

So, if you think you could help our project, please let us know using the form below.

Note, all volunteers will be subject to our normal stringent checks, eg DBS, Reference checks, and undertake safeguarding training.

Being a volunteer is a special privilege.  To become a volunteer, a befriender, and a friend, someone to share a cuppa and a laugh with.  I am proud to be a volunteer.”

Volunteering with Happy at Home is so rewarding.  I get the opportunity to enrich older people’s lives and listen to stories about their life.  The person I visit is my 100-year-old friend with a personality of a 20-year-old!”

“I have been providing telephone support for four people and it has made me happy knowing that one little phone call can brighten someone’s day”
