Happy at Home South Tyneside is a voluntary organisation and part of the Churches Together in South Tyneside charity. We never charge for our services and are not associated with any other organisation that uses the style “Happy at Home”

As you can imagine, due to the current Corona virus pandemic we are unable to visit people in their homes, so we have switched to making telephone calls and we still need help with that if you are able.
Although we are not able to visit people in their homes we are venturing out distributing activity packs and survival packs to help make this lockdown that bit more tolerable.
Now the UK is on lockdown we can longer run our Happy Hubs, but we will be continuing to support our clients as best we can.
Welcome to Happy at Home
Happy at Home supports the elderly and lonely in South Tyneside.
Under normal circumstances our volunteers make regular visits (usually weekly) to lonely isolated people; having a chat, listening to music, sharing a past time or just reminiscing.

When not in lockdown, we also run our Happy Hubs throughout South Tyneside where people who are lonely can make new friends.
Again, when not locked down, we also run at least two additional events per year (at Christmas and in the summer) to which volunteers and the people that they visit are invited.
Would you like to befriend a lonely older person in your neighbourhood?
We are looking for people who have time to call and have chat with a lonely person in South Tyneside.
We are always looking for volunteers.
